Being an avid fan of watching television, it is not common to watch foreign dramas here in the Philippines.
I remember when I was in college, it really caught my attention about Korean drama. I was curious (obviously!) about it. We all know that Taiwanese dramas invaded the local television. As I was changing the channel, (I remember it was night time, around 8 in the evening) I put down our remote control and started to glue my eyes to the TV. I thought it was another Taiwanese drama but I noticed that the captions are not in Chinese characters. The title of the drama was "Endless Love: Autumn in my Heart". This was aired in GMA in their primetime slot.
"Endless Love" is a story about a young couple as brother and sister, then they learn that she was switched with another girl at birth. They are separated, but years later, they reunite and must face obstacles when they fall in love....
Compared to Taiwanese dramas and Philippine soap operas, Korean dramas composed of 16 episodes. No brutal and explicit scenes. No revenge-type plot. Every episode is very unpredictable. You'll get hooked every episode. And the rest is history.
There are a lot of reasons why I love Korean dramas. The list is endless. But for now, this is my gist. If you're reading this, it's not too late to get hooked and binge-watch kdramas!
