In 2005, ABS-CBN aired another Korean drama entitled "Only You". It occupies the primetime slot. It has 16 episodes.
This is a story about a Eun-jae (Han Chae-young) who has a passion for cooking. She does not have an interest in studying, she runs away to Vicenza in Italy before she graduates from high school to enroll in a cooking school. Her high school friend, who loves her dearly and shares her passion for cooking, comes along with her. Han Yi-joon (Jo Hyun-jae) is from a wealthy family who owns a large hotel and various restaurants. He travels to Italy in search of his mother that abandoned his family when he was young and there he runs into Eun Jae. Coincidentally, Eun Jae had also been seeking the mother, who happens to be a chef in Vicenza, to learn the secrets to making great pasta. Both chance upon the mother just as she was about to get remarried to an Italian. She comforts Yi-Joon, who is distraught over his mother's remarriage, and they spend the night together. She ends up pregnant and has to give up her dream - but does not tell Yi-Joon.
This drama tells the story of Cinderella-like but in a different way. She does not rely on the father of her son, instead, she did all his best to raise up the child. Of course, as expected, they ended up together since their love for each other is sincere. By the way, their son was very cute :) What appeals to me the most is that the story was very light and funny. The cinematography was good because they shot both in Italy and South Korea. Don't forget, Han Chae-young was once mentioned that she is the "barbie" doll of South Korea.
Just like the other Korean drama, there was a Philippine adaptation of this drama played by Angel Locsin (Jillian), Sam Milby (TJ) and Diether Ocampo (Jonathan). Sam Milby sang the theme song of the same title. It was aired last 2009.
Overall, If I am going to re-watch this, definitely YES! It got me hooked actually.
