Another Korean hit drama aired last 2005 in GMA.... Stairway to Heaven.
The main casts of this drama are the following: Choi Ji-woo, Kwon Sang-woo, Shin Yeon-joon and Kim Tae-hee. Again, just like the other Korean drama aired in GMA, they occupy the primetime slot. As far as I remember, this is another two-digit rating based on the surveys conducted during that time. It was also shown not only in the Philippines but in other parts of Southeast Asia and Latin America. This is a 20-episode drama.
Synopsis: Song-Joo (Kwon Sang-woo) and Jung-Seo (Choi Ji-woo) were destined to be together even before they were born. Both of their parents were close friends, they have almost grown up together since their childhood. They even looked alike as if they were twins. They even try not to be sick because one may worry the other. Song-Joo, being the only son of a multi-national cooperation, begins his business training and prepares himself to study abroad. Before Song-Joo’s departure, Jung-Seo and Song-Joo exchange necklaces as if they are exchanging parts of their souls. Time passes and Song-Joo returns from his studies to get back with Jung-Seo. But a tragic accident happens. Jung-Seo gets hit by Yoo-ri’s (Kim Tae-hee) car and suffers amnesia. This is another story of a typical love-triangle. The only difference is that no violence-revenge-type in this drama. Yes, there are physical, verbal and emotional scenes but compared to the Philippine soap operas, you will understand why did they do that to the protagonists. If I remember it right, this was the first antagonist role for Kim Tae-hee. Don't forget Shin Yeon-joon's role as a loving, loyal friend to Choi ji-woo. He did everything just to be with Choi-Ji-woo's character. He portrayed the role well. Park Shin-hye played the role of young Jung Seo. One of the highlight of this drama is the carousel.
