Another drama series that got me hooked is "Lovers in Paris".
Two strangers named Kang Tae-young (Kim Jung-eun) and Han Ki-joo (Park Shin-yang) met in Paris and had to pretend to be an engaged couple when they came back to South Korea. But after all that pretending, they realize that there's something more in their ~relationship~ than how they planned it to be. (Source: cosmo.ph)
This drama was shown on ABS-CBN last 2004 dubbed in Tagalog. If you haven't watched it, the ending has a "plot twist". Compared to other series, this drama has 20 episodes. Every episode has revelations. This is not a typical romance drama. It was shot in Paris and South Korea. Just like Winter Sonata, the sound track is superb especially the rendition of "Moon River". Every time they play this in the background, you will also imagine that you are part of their story. Here in the Philippines, they release two volumes and of course, I bought both :)
In this drama, Park shin-yang and Kim Jung-eun won several awards. Park Shin-yang won Grand Prize (Daesang award) in SBS Drama Awards & nominated as Best Actor in 2005 Baeksang Awards (Oscar awards version in South Korea). On the other hand, Kim Jung-eun won Best Actress in 2005 Baeksang Awards and Asian TV awards. The drama itself won several awards, too. This is also one of the highest Korean drama during that year with a double-digit rating every episode.
It has a Philippine adaptation portrayed by Piolo Pascual (Carlo) and KC Concepcion (Vivian). It was shown in 2009 on ABS-CBN.
